Our due date was this past Sunday - 4 days ago - but so far no munchkin. Contractions have been coming sporadically getting stronger, but without any consistency. In spite of all our best efforts (spicy food, pineapples, spicy food that contains pineapples) there has been little progress.
And the fans are getting restless. The two of us are trying to keep our calm, but we can't help feeling anxious for some action. Frequent check-ins from friends and family are extremely sweet, but also remind us that the little man is not here yet.
Today at our scheduled appointment the midwife "swept the membrane" to help get things kickstarted. As we get ready to sleep tonight Nikki's having lots more contractions with greater frequency.
So, as the weather brews outside the little munchkin is brewing inside and perhaps tonight will be the night.
Of course, Nikki just headed to the shower to see if that would calm down the contractions or if they will persist just as strong. Time will tell...
