Apothecary Tinctura

I've driven past this place a million times on 6th Avenue and Franklin in Denver, and was finally prompted to go when I learned about their specialty in women's health through the Mountain Midwifery Center. When I stopped by, a knowledgeable herbalist recommended some supplements, tea, and essential oils and I perused the pregnant women and baby section. I could have spent hours in the store, but came away with:

  • EPA/DHA essentials supplement for brain development (you can also get DHA through eating fish, which I don't eat enough of)
  • Probiotic supplement: which you can also get by eating kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi.
  • Nuturing Tea which provides a good mix of herbs like raspberry leaf which supposedly tone the uterus. Do I believe this? We shall see.
  • Mandarin essential oil to help fall asleep was recommended, used by rubbing a few drops between your hands and inhaling and also rubbed on the bottom of your feet 20 minutes before bedtime.
  • Pregnant Belly Salve helps with stretch marks, and smells much better than what I picked up at Wallgreens.

They also have several products for use later on in pregnancy and post-pardom as well as products for babies and kids. Although great quality, the products are slightly pricey so it's best to pick and choose.
